PKR: Jackpot SNGs Land at PKR

Having started out at PokerStars as Spin & Gos, the Jackpot SNG format, with its randomly determined prize-pools has taken the online poker world by storm. The game is now among the most popular and naturally, more and more poker rooms adopt it. The latest poker room to pin the Jackpot SNGs onto their schedule is PKR.

PKR's take on the format stays true to its target-audience: the buy-ins range from $0.30 to $12. When playing in a Jackpot SNG, everyone wins at PKR: the winner of the three-handed hyper turbo event (which shouldn't take longer than a few minutes to wrap up) takes home 83.33% of the prize-pool (which can be as much as 1000x the buy-in), while the runner-up gets 10%. The third-place finisher gets 6,67%. Obviously, most of the time, the prize-pool is twice the buy-in.

The rake taken on these games ranges from 6.67% to 5.83%, depending on the size of the buy-in (cheaper games take more rake). With this move, PKR have introduced the popular new game-format ahead of other - bigger - online poker operators like 888poker and PartyPoker.
